But there’s one genre our hearts will always belong to. And it’s pretty obvious what genre that is.

For all you metal heads out there, here’s a list of our top 6 favourite metal music videos, some old and some new. So sit back and enjoy as we take you through a history of great music, in no particular order…

1. Slipknot – Left Behind

Starting off with an absolute classic from metal legends; Slipknot, as they melt our ears with this classic from 2001. ‘Left Behind’ was the lead single from the bands second album release ‘IOWA’ and to this day remains one of their best and most loved music videos.

Froot Loops with brown water anyone? Ugh, yuck!

2. Rage Against The Machine – Sleep Now In The Fire

If you’re going to shoot a music video in protest to the government’s greed and U.S wartime antics, why not hit the powers that be where it hurts and shut down New York’s financial district while you’re at it. In 2000 Rage Against The Machine did just that as they caused chaos while filming ‘Sleep Now In The Fire’. This one is an absolute classic!

3. Slayer – Repentless

No metal list is complete without an addition from thrash legends; Slayer. Their video for ‘Repentless’ is absolutely nuts! With a cameo from actor Danny Trejo, this music video shows the band performing in the middle of a rioting federal prison. A fitting setting for a band that never shy away from the odd bit of controversy!

4. Korn – Freak On A Leash

How about an absolute ear buster from Bakersfield’s finest; Korn? The Grammy award winning music video for ‘Freak on a Leash’ features a speeding bullet as it cuts through everything in its path in order to reach vocalist Jonathan Davis. This song is also responsible for one of the greatest beatdowns in metal history. “GO!"

5. Lamb Of God – Redneck

This must be the luckiest bunch of kids in the whole world! In this video for ‘Redneck’, Lamb of God are invited to a children’s birthday party and continue to cause utter chaos as their tour bus rolls into town. We’d love nothing more than for Lamb of God to play at our birthday party!

6. A Day To Remember - Since U Been Gone

This one needs no introduction! This absolute banger from A Day To Remember is one of the best covers we have ever heard and always gets everyone singing along in our office. The boys from Ocala take Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Since U Been Gone’ to a whole new level. The video see’s the band wearing women’s clothing and going nuts in front of an energetic crowd. “OOOOOOH!"
