Well guys one of the most exciting music festivals is just around the corner! What a line up?! It’s not often you see so many of your favourite bands at one festival and Sonisphere deserves praise for its wonderful mix of music genres whilst maintaining a totally alternative focus. Personally I’d be all over Fightstar, Gary Newman, Papa Roach & Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster.
Well we all know who we’re most excited about , our heavy metal best friends, IRON MAIDEN. The heavy metal legends have made an impressive 14 studio albums and sold MORE than 70 million albums worldwide (Even Gaga’s tried to claim she’s a fan- we won’t let her tarnish their image). There aren’t many metal acts who can boast such impressive statistics. Of course, we love Iron Maiden for their talent, energetic live performances and undeniable influence on so many of the bands we love now.
I think fans should be pleased as apparently they will be playing a lot of their older material! Giving us hardcore fans just what we need. How about the new Eddie then? He was revealed during their final frontier tour in Texas and seems to have provoked a mixed response. I’m not sure they needed to change their iconic mascot? Are we willing to be open minded and accept him?
Back to the Sonisphere topic, here are a few band tip offs from Grindstore HQ.... if you find you have a break or just get a bit tired of the main stages take yourself off and check out Black Spiders, Slaves to Gravity, Deaf Havana and Therapy who are planning Troublegum in full!
Couldn’t help but notice that two absolutely excellent comedians, Sean Hughes and Tim Minchin, are performing and I insist you check them out!
Who’s going along to Sonisphere? Who are you most excited about?!
