Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 by Jimmy Page (guitar), Robert Plant (vocals), John Paul Jones (bass guitar) and John Bonham (drums). All of Led Zeppelin’s studio albums have made it into the top of of the Billboard album chart in the U.S. In their first year Led Zeppelin released two albums, their self titled debut followed by “Led Zeppelin II” and then completed four UK and US concert tours. Both albums were successful and Led Zeppelin II spent seven weeks at number one. Their third release, “Led Zeppelin III” (1970), reached number one in the UK and US. “Led Zeppelin IV” is one of the best selling albums in history. It was released in 1971 and reached number one in the UK. Their next two album releases made it to number one in the UK and US. “Houses of the Holy” (1973), has sold over 11 million copies in the US alone and “Physical Graffiti” (1975) proved even more successful, the album is 16 times platinum. “Presence”, the band’s seventh studio album, was released in March 1976. It was written and recorded whilst Robert Plant was recovering from a serious car accident. 1979’s “In through the Out Door” also reached number one in the US and UK prompting Led Zeppelin’s complete album catalogue to enter the Billboard Top 200 between the weeks of 27 October and 3 November 1979. The death of drummer John Bonham led to the group disbanding and two years later and releasing a collection of outtakes, titled “Coda” (1982). Led Zeppelin reunited on 10th December 2007 with Jason Bonham, the late drummer’s son, for the Ahmet Ertegün Tribute Concert at The O2 Arena in London.
